Everyone you meet impacts your life in some way or another whether it is big or small. Over the last week it has been made very apparent that Scott Schug has made huge impacts on many of people’s lives. Most importantly he has been a huge mentor to many children in the 19 years he has coached baseball.
On Thursday 26 May 2016, Scott Schug was formally diagnosed with papillary carcinoma. This is the most common form of thyroid cancer. His cancer has metastasized (spread) to his lymph nodes in this short time and he will undergo surgery on Friday 3 June 2016. His surgery will consist of removing his thyroid, lymph nodes and nodules from his neck and chest. It is uncertain at this time if all of this can be done in a single surgery or if it will require two.
With illness come more bills and less income. Scott’s case is no different as he is the primary income for the family and will be out of work for a lengthy period of time due to recovery and the nature of his job. Chasity has an in-home day care that she has to also set aside for the health of her husband. With both incomes suffering we are asking for your help!
Most of you know Scott and Chasity are very humble people with two amazing boys, Carter and Preston. Both of the boys play travel baseball and are typical boys. We are hoping to keep their lives as normal and stress free as possible as they both are very close to Scott and are understandable upset and concerned. At this time we all want Scott and Chasity to focus on his illness and fighting his battle head on without worry of his family and finances.
The Schug’s are very grateful and blessed to have each and every one of you in their lives praying and fighting alongside them. If you can donate to their cause we would greatly appreciate it. If you cannot afford to donate, thoughts and prayers have been working amazingly for them thus far!
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
