Hi, my name is Ben and I live in Houston, Texas. I am trying to adopt a dog named Duke. He was dumped at an animal shelter in San Bernadino, California. This shelter is a high kill shelter. WIth Duke as old as he is and the fact that the shelter is already full, he is a likely candidate for euthanization. I am trying to give him a better life down on the Texas Gulf Coast to spend his days. The funds will be used to pay for the transportations costs from San Bernadino California to Houston Texas. Every dollar that we receive over the needed money will be donated to our local animal shelter.

How sad .... Three German shepherds where killed in Houston yesterday the shelters are full of them yet your handing money to a person you don't even know to get a senior who will need extensive vetting to be cared for . So wreckelss ....... If you can't afford the costs you can't afford the dog! The transport being used costs under 300$ Duke should have stayed in California with a local rescue who would have vetted him and backed him all his days !!!!
This is WRONG!!! Transport costs $320 approx. you idiots are just handing someone $1800? Are there no gsd's in this state? No, reputable rescue to go through? You should be ashamed for putting this dogs life at risk.
Your all idiots. How will Ben afford Vet care for this dog. He has a large tumor?
How about the other people commenting stop being pessimistic pricks. If people want to donate to someone then mind your own business. He isn't a scam and its touching to see someone care about this dog.
If you can't afford the transportation, you can't afford a senior dog with health issues. I bet this dog never makes it to Texas, it will either be redumped somewhere or euthanized (there will be an excuse, such as inoperable cancer). All of you who donated, didn't help this dog. You just signed him to an awful end to life.
I found my dog the same way you found Duke. I saw a photo of him on the internet after looking at hundreds of dogs in high kill shelters but there was a connection with my Bubbah I can't explain in words. I rescued him from San Bernardino High Kill Devore. That was 4 years ago and I have continued to help animals through rescue and networking. Bubbah is the best thing that ever happened to me! We rescued each other! I would love to receive the updates on Duke. This story touched my heart.
Congrats Duke! You look happy and relaxed! Socal appreciates your determined effort to get him safe!! Please ignore negative comments, these people are always that way, we ignore them in SoCal!! Let us know how he's doing!
Thank you for update! Thank you for adopting Duke!! I wish you all a beautiful life!❤️
