On Sunday, May 22nd, our beloved poodle Bentley got bit TWICE on his leg by a rattlesnake while on his walk at Pepper Creek Trail.
After 2 days in the emergency vets office and a vile of anti venom, we brought Bentley home for care thinking the worst was over.
5 days later his leg took a turn for the worse, and the necrosis began eating away at his leg. Within a 6 hour period, he grew a baseball size hole of an empty dead area in his leg, so we had to rush him to the emergency vet specialist in Austin, where he will now be for a couple weeks. They kept telling us that Bentley would lose his leg, but we found a way to able to save it, and that comes at a price!
Bentley will be going through multiple surgeries and a VAC procedure for 5 days, in order to kill the infection he has and to start the regrowth process of the tissue and muscle in his leg. We love our baby so much, and to see him going through this is breaking our hearts.
This has turned into an extreme financial hit for us, and we are asking for our family and friends to help us in any way that you can, if you can! All the funding will be going straight into his vet account and would be a blessing to Keith and I.
