Not for profit bakery and 501c3 (Laughing Bear Bakery)  has opened for the purpose of providing jobs to released offenders and paying more than menial/ minimum wages. Monies needed to maintain operating expenses and pay wages while marketing develops. One of the best known ways to prevent further crimes is to be able to make a living wage. We have survived the initial 7 months but funds are needed to continue. Not desperate, but more funds are needed to maintain and increase number we employ. If each person with a friend or family who has served time and understands their situation upon release could provide even $2, we can continue and hopefully prosper. Not only would we be greatful, but society as a whole will benefit.

Many thanks to our quick supporters. We really believe in our cause to turn former offenders into tax payers instead of a tax draw. EVERYONE benefits. Any and every person who has a family member or friend who has been incarcerated would understand. Even a minor donation will benefit this worthy goal.

One of the most depressing things about the American penal system is the high number of parolees who eventually are reincarcerated. The most frequently cited reason for reincarceration is the inability of the offender to find a job. To that end, Laughing Bear Bakery was established in November 2015 to hire released offenders and pay them a living wage. However, we need funds to continue our production and to provide more positions to ex-offenders. Increasing our capital base will assist in securing future business. In addition to donations, we would welcome more outlets for our products. Our pies and cookies are extremely popular, but we need to reach more customers. Laughing Bear Bakery is a not for profit venture, (501)c3. All contributions are tax deductible. Visit our website at: laughingbearbakery.tumblr.com

A majority of offenders want to get their lives back on track. However, it's hard finding decent work once you have a record. The Laughing Bear Bakery is trying to work with this issue. RIght now we only have 3 people working at the bakery but if we can get financial help, we can expand and hire more. There's no limit to where this can go but we need financial help. If enough people can make even a small donation, we might be able turn things around for a few people, and then more and more. Please be a part of this "fresh start" for men and women who truly want to change.
