Miss Theresa's medical bills
Hi, I know you all recognize this wonderful lady. Ms. Theresa Stewart of Springside Chestnut Hill Academy. To all of the graduates of Springside School and Chestnut Hill Academy, faculty and staff (former and present) Theresa needs our help.
Miss Theresa has been at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy for over 25 years. She has watched us all grow and cared for each and everyone of us. She always remembered what each student and faculty member liked and made your sandwich with extra care.
Well now I ask that all of us show Miss Theresa a whole lot of care. Theresa is facing a $17,000 medical bill and now her car has died too. Over the years Theresa's position here at school has moved from a school employee to an outsourced employee. Her benefits were slashed as she lost seniority with the new companies. Her position was made part-time. Theresa needed surgery, but she put it off until she could save money and also made it onto Medicare. Her surgery was successful, but not until after spending over 24 hours in the recovery room. If the hospital had admitted her, Medicare would have covered it, but it was supposed to be an "in and out" same day surgery. So the medical decisions made were for the benefit of Theresa medically and the hopsital financially. It will take Theresa another lifetime to pay off this bill as well as buy a new car.
If every student, faculty, staff member who ever had one of Theresa's sandwiches contributed what it would cost to buy a sandwich loaded with ingredients and love, I know we could make a difference in her life.
Please contribute now. If you have any questions, please email me at school. Monica Siltman
