Hi there!
My name is August James (Packard) and I am a singer songwriter from Providence, RI. I am currently based in Albuquerque, NM, where I am gigging and writing new songs all the time.
In the fall of 2016, I had the incredible opportunity to record a collection of my songs with some great friends at California State University, Chico. These guys were so good to me and gave my music hours and hours of their time and attention. What's more, they did the whole thing for FREE! I can't express how lucky I am to have had this opportunity to record the album "These Days" that you can now listen to on all streaming platforms on the internet. Now, a year and a half later, I am ready to do it again! I have been writing more songs than I ever have before and I have compiled more than enough for a new album. I have found an engineer/producer to help me realize my vision for these new songs, and I have a wealth of musician friends to hit the studio with me and make it all happen.
This is where I can really use your help as a contributor to this project.
I was spoiled immensely by my friends back in Chico. They were students like myself at the time, studying recording arts and sound production, and they were happy for any opportunity to record music. Out in the post collegiate world, however, things are much more expensive. My engineer/producer friend has offered me a great deal for the time he is willing to spend, but he still needs to get paid! Furthermore, I will need to pay for the time in studios/spaces where we will be recording, as well as the mastering process (which can be VERY expensive) and the physical CDs themselves.
If "August James" was an established band (which is my vision for the future) as opposed to the relatively solo project that it is right now, I would have 3-4 other people to help out with all these expenses, making it much more manageable, but for now, I am on my own.
If you have the time, energy, and resources to do so, it would mean the world to me if you helped me out by contributing anything you can to this full length album! Once completed, it will be available for streaming, virtually for free, on Spotify, Itunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Bandcamp, and Soundcloud, as well as pretty much any other streaming site you can think of. I have also realized that the best way to have people listen to your CD's is to give them away, so the CD's themselves will be "sold" on a completely donation basis, meaning if you want to give me 25 cents, or 0 cents, for one of my CD's that is totally cool with me!
With all said and done, I need your help in making this vision a reality! If you can't help or simply don't want to, I really appreciate you taking the time to read this at all :).
