Moses is 6yr. old Dutch Shepherd. He was hit by a car. No one stopped to help him and he crawled back to his house where his parents found him and rushed him to the 24hr emergency vet. They were able to stablalize him but then his parents had a scare when they had to rush him the University of Ga's vet for possible surgery. Once there he had a better prognosis and his body was healing the internal bleeding. His left back femur is broken and he has to have surgery to fix it, but can't yet because he has air in his chest from his lungs, then there was a small rupture at the time of the injury, and they are worried it will cause a problem during surgery. He also developed a heart arrhythmia that they are treating with Lidocaine. He has been in Doggy ICU for two days and they do not expect to do surgery for another four days. At this time over 3,000 dollars has been paid to help him get better but the expense is greater. Moses is a very active Dutch Shepherd who loves to run and play with his black Kong. He loves to howl at fire trucks and wiggle on his back when he thinks no one is watching. He recently realized he could jump the gates at the house. The heights were extended but the stray cats who decided to come into his territory lured him out again. His parents believe he was doing what all dogs are programmed to do when something is running from them, chase it, when he was hit by a car. His family needs help making sure he gets the care he needs to be back to his old self. They love him very much and and have visited him at UGA everyday. This is the longest he has ever been away from his family. Thank you for any support you may give.
