Help save Pam Mark Hall's Steinway!
$7,050 of $7,500 goal
The last five years have been very difficult for Pam. She lost her job and was forced to sell her home in Nashville, TN. Shortly afterwards, her mother began having serious health problems and needed support, leading Pam to relocate Northern California in 2013. At that time, she left all of her belongings in storage in Nashville, not expecting that it would take 3.5 years to find a permanent home.
The good news is that she has finally found a place to call her own in Northern CA. However, we are now faced with new challenges. Currently, Pam is both financially and emotionally stretched to the breaking point. She is living on a small fixed income, and is providing full-time support to her mother, who has dementia and other health problems. Her laptop, which she relies on heavily for her work and creativity (it contained all of her original recordings, sheet music, etc.) has recently met an unfortunate end, and needs to be replaced.
To top it all off, almost all of her belongings, are still in storage in Nashville, costing $250/month. One of the things in storage is her beloved piano, a Steinway that she purchased when she was just 24. On this piano, she wrote "Who Do You Say I Am?," "Dwell on These Things," "Holy Union," and many others, and co-wrote "Sparrow Watcher" and "Jordan" with Rich Mullins. She doesn't want to keep paying for the storage, but is unable to pay to move everything to CA. Even moving everything herself is cost-prohibitive.
Pam was beginning to feel that the only option she has at this point might be to sell everything, including the piano. She reached out to friends for ideas, and the response was unanimous - PAM SHOULD KEEP HER PIANO!!!!
We (friends and family of Pam) have started this campaign to help her do just that. The funds raised here will be used to pay professional movers to transport her piano and other belongings from Nashville, TN to Oroville, CA. We hope to be able to have her moved by the end of June 2016, so that she won't have to pay another month of storage. If you know and love Pam, or have ever been inspired by her music, please help her out during this difficult time. Anything you can give would be profoundly appreciated, and will help her be able to continue to create. To show her gratitude, Pam will send everyone who donates a thank-you CD gift of 7 previously-unreleased songs she's written and recorded over the past 35 years. Send us a private message with your address when you donate to receive your copy!
It is with the deepest gratitude I can report to you that the move from Nashville, TN to Oroville, CA is complete! Although there were some challenges and extra costs along the way, the piano made it safely as well my other belongings! The money you all generously contributed via GoFundMe covered the move and all my travel costs.
Now comes the unpacking of boxes. After 3.5 years I am surprised by the treasures I’m discovering! I love being reunited with my piano! It needs a tune-up in a major way, but other-wise it sounds good.
I absolutely could not have done this without you. I feel loved and supported in a way that touches me deeply and proves I’ve got a tribe who cares. Please know this is a 2-way deal. I’m here for you as well for the journey.
With much love,
Pam Mark Hall
Pam is so grateful to be reunited with her piano and special things. The current balance will cover her flight and movers. We’d like to reach the full goal so that she can also replace her computer that was recently destroyed. She uses it for recording, composing, writing and storing important documents and master recordings.
Pam says: “I am deeply moved by the outpouring of love I’ve received from you through donations and gracious comments through GoFundMe. Thank you, for letting me know that my music and life matter to you. Your encouragement has lifted me up and renewed my desire to create even in the midst of caring for my mother in her final season. Life is short and these moments are sweet when we are one in the Spirit. My 'Joy Runs Deep.'”
Pam Mark Hall
John and I simply adore this lady called Pam Mark Hall. Her heart is huge. Her incredible trial of faith is freely given and especially poignant to whomever wants to be face-to-face with the Lord. Pam Mark Hall captures in everything she does the risks she takes to remain true to the Word and expresses for all of us to admit to regarding the difficulties we experience when faltering in our belief. Pam Mark Hall has been tempted at times to doubt her own understanding, especially when trying to explain the challenges she faces in light of her all powerful and loving Lord. Still, after a rather vocal exchange or two with the Lord, she has always found peace knowing the quiet miracle within her as a born again Christian and makes us stop in our ditsy day to recognize the same quiet miracle growing inside ourselves. When you are around Pam Mark Hall there is no doubt that Christ has been reborn in her. She trusts in that miracle and insists that we do the same. Today, we can draw on His presence more and believe fuller, in spite of ourselves, because of our encounters with Pam Mark Hall. It is high time we gave back to this woman called Pam Mark Hall and the gracious gifts she has freely offered at, sometimes, great cost to herself. Join me as I make a gift that will certainly stretch my capability. If you have more — give more. If you are without, well ... you are the person Pam Mark Hall has lived her life for. I am privileged to know that this amazing woman is allowing me to share this journey with her — and so are you. Marti Fischer
Dear Ones, I am heading to Nashville Tuesday July 6th. Due to your support and encouragement, I will meet with a mover (recommended by the manager of my storage unit for 3.5 years) to load and move my belongings including my beloved Steinway piano. To date the GoFundMe campaign that several of you suggested has raised $4065 (minus 8% admin fee) towards the $4500 moving fee. I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of your love. I've also been able to arrange for a home health worker to come every day while I'm gone to help my 91 year old dad to care for my mom, Cora. I will return to CA on Tuesday July 12th to meet the mover, unload and continue care-taking mom who is rapidly declining. Thank you again and again for coming to my aid and for your continued prayers. I'll be writing a new song for you on my piano soon. Oh, I'm sending a 7 song CD compilation of songs I've written over 30 years that have never been released commercially - to everyone who contributes to the fund. So please make sure you message me your mailing address.
Thank you, everyone for your kind generosity. I want to send you a CD of 7 songs I've written and receded over the years, but never released as a token of my appreciation. Please private message me your mailing addresses if you'd like to receive one.
