“Finding Peace” explores ways to help individual people and society as a whole find peace within ourselves, our families and communities. The first episode in this series is called “Rosey’s Story” about Rosey Velez and his fellow 9-11-01 rescue and recovery workers that are ill from exposure to the toxic air conditions from working for many months on the pile. Jon Stewart offers brilliant insight into what really happened to these men and women that has cause way too many deaths and financial heartache. Bruce Springsteen, Jackson Brown, Keith Urban, Alabama Shakes, Tedeschi Trunks Band, Keb Mo, Steve Winwood and other artists have donated their music for the film. The filming for this episode is ongoing and we hope that you can support us so it can be complete by the end of 2016.
The story is about Military veteran and EMS 9/11 rescue and recovery worker Rosendo “Rosey” Velez is extremely ill. He is sick from illnesses that are a result of being a first responder on September 11, 2001 working as a rescue and recovery worker as the buildings fell until the last shift of recovery. In the first episode of this series, Rosey takes an epic journey from San Angelo Texas to New York in an RV meeting with people and other first responders who are all searching for the same thing---Finding Peace. Peace of mind, body and soul. Peace for their families, peace for the 9/11 community, peace for our country, and peace for the world.
This is an inspirational yet entertaining story about Rosey’s search for peace not just within himself but for his fellow veterans and first responders, for a country and a world suffering from hate, violence, bigotry and oppression. Never has there been a time where “Finding Peace” is more relevant and urgently needed in America and around the world. Please help support Rosey and these men and women who have sacrificed so much for our country.
