In the summer of 2009, through their need to create music, a small handful of musicians came together. In Wainwright, AB they began to combat small-town boredom with their common love. Founding members; Glen Penney, Jeff Belcher and Mike Dort now base the band in the Edmonton area where through dedication and persistence continue to write, perform and evolve their sound.
All with different musical backgrounds and tastes, the trio writes original material with a passion to connect people through rock'n'roll. Thoughtful lyrics and infectious melodies are The Able Kind's vessel to do so.
With every live experience, handshake and cheers, people are welcomed into The Able Kind fan family. The band currently has 3 EP's; their latest released earlier this year. 

We are running a "gofundme" page to help keep up with the costs of furthering our band. The Able Kind is more than a mere hobby of ours; it is very much a part of our lives and is appreciated by others.

   As an independent band trying to step out of the garage, we are exploring avenues to support our passion and dream. This means finding ways to help cut the out-of-pocket cost of gas and food to tour and to record.

   - We are an independent group of musicians - not wealthy rockstars. Any help is appreciated.
