We all have the ability to make a difference, no matter how small. Our individual efforts put together can result in highly significant change.
Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe Malawi has an estimated 300, 000 patient to doctor contact annually. Over 50% of these are children. Studies indicate that 1 in 8 children in Malawi will die before their 5th birthday often from common and treatable conditions such as pneumonia and diarrhea.
Despite the efforts of dedicated health workers, our children are dying because they cannot access the medical care they need.
WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING.
Our first initiative is geared to meet this need by raising awareness and funds to purchase High Dependency Unit (HDU) equipment for the Pediatrics ward.
