Help Veteran's Family with Bills

Donation protected

I've been battling with myself about whether asking for money was a good idea or not. I don't like to ask for help, especially financial help, but after watching my husband struggle with another panic attack I realized that I need just one less thing to worry about so I can focus more on him.
My husband is an Army Veteran who is struggling with PTSD, depression, and anxiety. He was hospitalized in January and he tried so hard to return to normal and continue working, but this silent disease keeps trying to take his life. Every single day has been a battle. At the end of March he had to go on unpaid medical leave from his job. His job also had no benefits and so we blew through savings pretty fast. I work full-time, but my paycheck isn't covering all of the bills. We are on food stamps and we just got approved for daycare assistance through the state so we are getting all of our bills to fit under my paycheck, but we are still falling short and we need help to get our bills caught up.
I tried getting help from several veterans organizations, but I was turned away. When I got my paycheck at the beginning of May (I get paid monthly), I thought it'd be best to pay the most important bills like our mortgage and electricity, well, most organizations only help with utilities and mortgages and since I paid them already they wouldn't help with any of our other bills.
Please help if you can. I really am embarrassed even asking, but I just need to swim above water and stop feeling like I'm drowning.
