Eliminate bathroom hysteria

I am not adding my Facebook photo because we have already been victimized with stigma by this event.  A couple of years ago, a homeless mother who had stayed in our home asked us to take guardianship of her two daughters, who were developmentally delayed, ridden with lice, and not potty trained even though they were in elementary school.  We went through a complete background check at that time.

We did so gladly since we loved the girls and they thrived in our home.  About 18 months ago, a nightmare began.  A friends 17 year old daughter was visiting and was portraying herself as 18 on OKCupid and making plans to run off with a 25 year old man.  Per her father's request, we took away  her laptop and phone.  She then made false allegations against my husband to DFS, which were proven unfounded as she was a known false reporter.

Over a month later, CPS removed the young girls from our home with no warrant or court order.  Since then, they have manufactured evidence and levied 30 charges of sexual abuse of a minor against my husband.  What is the behavior that warrants a lifetime in prison?  My husband helped shower and dress the girls, when either their mother or myself was present.

The original petition to remove them from our custody was falsified by the Delaware Attorney General office and CPS.  An hour before I arrived at the police station, they drew up a petition stating that I told police my husband forced a six year old to masturbate him daily. There have been repeated forensic interviews, against protocol, with evidence of coaching as time goes on.

The girls never disclosed any abuse, were regularly seen by their pediatrician, and had no physical or emotional signs prior to being ripped from our arms.

As a result of the allegations, my husband had two major strokes and is now totally and permanently disabled.   We are awaiting his disability approval but are without income.

Our attorney requires a $20,000 retainer before July 1st in order to represent my husband.  We are selling everything we own but have a long way to go.

As the family court judge stated, no good deed goes unpunished.  We simply tried to follow our spiritual values of taking care of those in need.

Delaware CPS investigators are not trained on developmental milestones, and did not know that it is appropriate to help children until approximately age 12.  These children were 6 and 7 at the time.

We are also criticized for our child rearing practices, which are a combination of my husband's Hispanic background and my LDS beliefs.

I do not believe in my husband's innocence, as innocence to me implies room for doubt.  I am permanently and totally disabled, and was always at home when he was with the children.  No improper acts ever occurred.  Because I have mobility and balance issues, and have lost 50% use of my hands, it was safer for my husband to assist the girls in the shower, and to comb their hair afterwards.

Recently I have become aware of much press against allowing men in bathrooms with children.  I have to question if this is the beginning of a campaign against fathers, and the ability to participate fully in the raising of children.  What happens to a single parent?  Will states begin to use this type of action to persecute same sex couples who begin families of their own?

I have tried to get the ACLU involved, but they do not feel this will affect anyone else.  I think it is critical to prevent this type of government persecution, in order that all parents may participate in normal, day to day raising of children.
