Cape Town Printmaking Internship
Donation protected
I applied for an internship position with Warren Editions, a printmaking press in Cape Town, South Africa, and I've been accepted into the program. Unfortuantely, my travel funding fell through and I didn't receive the grant I had hoped to cover my expenses.
Since graduation, I have been searching for opportunities and experiences to exercise and expand my skills and knowledge. I want to take risks and confront challenges in order to continue learning and growing. The Warren Edition internship provides that experience while allowing me to continue practicing and experimenting with printmaking processes. Community is important to the continuation of thoughtful and meaningful work and for two months in South Africa, I'll be building professional relationships with artists and thinkers at Warren Editions.
I'm asking for $2,000 to cover travel costs and rent/material/miscellaneous expenses. The internship is from the beginning of September through the end of October. I'm hoping to raise enough money to buy a plane ticket by late July.
This internship is my first professional working experience since graduation and it is so important to the trajectory of the rest of my artistic practice and career. Access to funding opens up opportunities available to artists that wouldn't otherwise be possible and unfortunately this experience depends upon your donations to help me acheive my goals.
In the next few weeks, I'll be setting up an etsy where my prints can be purchased to help fund this trip as well. I'll post that link here.
