Hello KKASC GoFundMe Contributuers,(Family,Friends,Anonymus peron who happen to click on this link)
My name is Kierrah Gordon, Family calls me KeeKee, and my friends call me Kee. KKASC stands for keep Kierrah at Spelman College. I am currently a sophmore attending Spelman College on the very grip of faith that I have believe in God works in mysterious ways. I believe that when you really want to make a change in the world you fight in accomplishing that anyway you know how. Do any and everything to accomplish them. In order to further advance me in accomplishing my dreams I sought out a college education. College was something that I was drilled in my head since I was younger. My grandmother always made sure I knew how important education was. In doing so I exceled in school. Coming to college I am first generation student so when I set foot on Spelman College I knew the pressure was on for me to succeed. I had my younger cousin looking up to me I was the first they witness leave to attend college. I knew that I set the tone for how college was. I got so wound up in the pressure to succeed and did not do as good as I was supposed to. My motiviation for my life was not there. I ultimately forgot what I worked so hard for. Over the summer I was consistently looking for ways to fund my education, enlisment in the service, jobs, and even for a brief moment my mind went to a place where most people in neighborhood goes to when they know they have a little amount of time to be short it was not legal. I did not subdue to those last resort criminal behavior but instead I leaned on my family, friends, and my Spelman Sisters for support. With their help we raised enough money in order for me to have at least half of the tutition paid off for me to enroll in a payment plan. I am forever grateful to my sisters they kept me motivated to come back to Spelman when everyone else said I should transfer and chose an alternate route. That eventually I will return. One thing I will not forget is when my aunt said when people take a year off from college after there first year they're less likely to return because they will get comfortable at home and will inevitably establish independance where they are. I had to ask myself if the dreams I have are going to be benefical to the generations that come after me and that answer is yes. I want to create a program that benefits the psych of children in there time of trauma and tribulations. I want to create a safe haven for these children, where their comfortable to be themselves and express that in art. Since returning to Spelman I have joined Afrekete(LGBT club on campus) NAACP(National Association for the Advancement of Colored People), AUC Philly Club and am even in the works of collaborating with a local alternative  elementary school in The WestEnd area of Atlanta working with children that I plan to create my program for.  With little to a month to raise another 10,000 for this semester alone, I am holding to sheer fabric of faith that I have in that God works in marvelous ways and that as long as you are doing what you need to do to fulfill his purpose for you all the other details will be taken care of but you will never know if you do not at least try. If awarded this scholarship it will place me closer to achieving the coast guard scholarship (which will fund both junior and senior years of college) because it will afford me with the chance to stay and further fulfill my promise.
