My name is Mariah Gonzalez. I am 17 years old, graduating from Mapleton in Thornton, CO, and furthering my education at the University of Colorado in Boulder.
My mother, who is a single mother working full-time at Sprouts and trying her best to do all she can to help me move forward into my dreams, and I have lost our home due to a tramautic fire.
The fire was in my room and spread throughout the top floor of the home, destroying everything from our clothes, necessities, books, and house.
Everyone got out of the house safely, but now my mother and I will seek our shelther through friends and other family, but my main concern as a child, knowing the struggle my mother and I have both gone through these past few years, all I ask from the community is please help.
Please help my mother who has enough stress from working 50 hours a week and trying to do all she can to take care of me.
We have nothing now. I no longer have materials to get through college, clothes to wear, or somewhere my mother can call home.
Please, within our situation now, anything would help.
