Melissa's Lyme Treatment

FIGHT LIKE A GIRL!... Is the motto.
Please help me fight this battle with Lyme Disease. I need treatment that my insurance company will not cover. Insurance only pays for one 30 day round of antibiotics, which I have completed. But, that is only enough treatment for those with Early or Early-disseminated Lyme Disease.

I have what is called Late Stage Lyme Disease, which is when you are affected >1 year. My Immunologist believes I could have been affected as long as 1-3 years. In Late Lyme disease, the Borrelia Burgdorferi bacteria is known to spread to most organs like the brain, lungs, heart, liver and thyroid. As well as, causing a number of allergies, hormone imbalances, low grade fevers, tremors, cognitive problems, gait imbalance, joint pain and muscle weakness. I have all of the above that antibiotics alone will not treat.

Insurance companies believe that 30 days of antibiotics will eradicate the bacterium from the body. But that is only true in Early Lyme Disease. Lyme disease is currently one of the biggest controversial diseases in the US to date. Medical Doctors and the CDC, have been going round and round about the problem with Lyme disease and how important it is to be caught early, when it can be treated. If caught later in the disease, it's pretty much too late and the CDC knows this. The problem is that currently in the US, there is no for sure go-to protocol (eg. testing and treatment guidelines) for a patient with Late Stage Lyme.

So, the only for sure thing the CDC and doctor's know to do for treatment is antibiotics.... Therefore, that is the only thing Insurance will cover!

Lyme disease, is still a new illness in the eyes of the CDC, they don't know what to tell doctors on how to specifically treat it because they don't know how to. They don't know what it takes to make a patient totally healed from this disease. Only when they learn how treat it, is when they can control it. Right now, the CDC, only provides vague or contradicting information on treatment guidelines.

Lyme disease has been reported in all 50 states, with nearly 300,000 cases per year (that is more than HIV).

I already know I have Lyme, but I also need treatment for the items marked with **. I need testing for the following illnesses marked with *. All illnesses derived from Lyme Borreliosis:

1)Hormone Imbalance (possibly Hasimoto's thyroiditis)**
2) Babesiosis*
3) Bartonella**
4) Allergies to all trees, grass and mold**
5) Abnormal Liver Enzymes**
6) Anaplasmosis*
7) Ehrlichiosis*
8) Neuroborreliosis*
9) Stool testing (due to Chronic Streptococcus)**
10) Borreliosis**

*Testing I need to pay out of pocket for.
**Illnesses I tested positive for, but need to pay out of pocket for the treatment.

I normally don't like asking for help, as I have always been a giver, if I have it, it's yours. In this case though, I have no other choice, I want to be healthy for my daughter, no matter what it takes.
