Community and neighbors,
We are raising funds to replace a home destroyed in the massive April 12th hail storm. While it isn't a typical home as most would think, but an RV for a full timer. An 85 year old lady named Jane Austin, affectionately known to most as "Janie", living at the San Antonio KOA since July of 1971.
She and her late husband, Buddy McBride, traveled the world as entertainers, as a singer and a ventriloquist spreading happiness and joy to others throughout their lifetime. With their beginnings in Vaudville and their careers ending on cruise ships. With no surviving family, Janie has only this swiss cheese of an RV to live in and call home.
The damage to the RV is extensive. Golfball to grapefruit sized hail punched holes through the roof, vents, skylite, and awning. Tree damage to the roof and walls. Water damage to most all of her clothing and personal effects. She doesn't have insurance.
Through the generousity of Steve Spearing owner of Crestview RV in Shertz, TX, we have a replacement RV available to her at his cost of $5,000.
That is our goal and in the short time frame of 15 days.
There is an imposed deadline to remove her RV from the campground by the end of the month. So, with 15 days remaining, we strive to reach our $5,000 goal and ask you share this project with your friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors.
