It is with deep sadness and sheer anger that I share with you that Ann Louise Walker was just diagnosed with an advanced metastatic ovarian cancer that has spread to her intestines.
Ann, 49, has not been feeling well for a while, and hasn't been able to work since March. She and her partner Kate have 5 kids. After moving to Ohio last fall, Kate Wesley (Sears), who is a teacher, has only been able to sub while she worked on updating her Ohio certification.
I'm creating this gofundme so Ann and Kate can pay their bills (rent, food, utilities, etc.) while Ann is treated and until the end of September when Kate will resume teaching full time. Kate and Ann will start to access funds as soon as possible. They are in a high needs situation right now and need to be able to pay their basic bills (utilities, rent, gas, food.) The first mini goal is $1800 to cover immediate utility bills and June's rent. The amount of requested money is based on a $3000/month income and takes into account that Kate will not receive a paycheck until the end of her first month of teaching.
I believe in Ann Louise Walker -- what she can do, who she is as a person, the love that she has for people, and the goodness that resides within her. After having battled with serious drug addictions, and other life challenges, Ann, who is now three and a half years sober, has grown immensely as a human being, friend, and partner. The love and care that she has for people, as evidenced by the many people she has helped over the years, is powerful beyond measure. While I have personally experienced great heartache along the ride with Ann Walker, I have also experienced great love.
Your support of this cause means the world to me. It will help to alleviate a significant amount of pressure and stress on Ann and Kate, as they make important decisions about Ann's treatment and care.
