I'm raising money for Breast and Prostate Cancer research by partaking in the 24 Hour of Lemons this year, a novelty car race for charity.
I am asking for donations for the team, as well as money to donate to the Garvan Institute breast and prostate cancer research. Just being able to set up a team and participate in this event is is a sizable donation towards the Garvan Institute research, and every cent helps!
There are some barriers which hindered me from achieving this goal for some time. I have Austism and some serious health issues. My family has also overcome many barriers over the years, but due to my and our context, we can't afford to donate to the charity and cover all the race costs, which includes professional race gear, fees and rego, travel costs, etc.
I have been inspired by comedian Adam Hills and Craig "Papa" Coombsy and his journey with terminal cancer. These great people have inspired me to have fun in life while I can. I hope we can help find a cure to cancer in some form. I will happily drive to show we can have fun and help others at the same time.
