Women's Empowerment Centers/Africa

Donation protected
This project is supported by Kelly Anderson (doTERRA) and Ann Webb (Global LifeVision) and we would be THRILLED if you would take a minute to read through the following project we are working on that will EMPOWER WOMEN and SAVE LIVES!

Thank you in advance - any amount will help!

The empowerment of women and girls in Africa is critical to get them out of poverty.  We fully embrace the African proverb “If you educate a man you educate an individual, but if you educate a woman, you educate a nation.”

There is an urgent need to get these centers up and started immediately! Daily we get reports of teens and women in the area who would have made different choices if they had them!

Project - 3 Women Empowerment Centers in Africa (2 in Ghana, 1 in Kenya)

Purpose & Objectives

VOCATIONAL TRAINING: To empower uneducated women by offering vocational training to help them earn money for school fees for their children and uplifting their family living standards.  Training of dressmaking, uniforms, beadwork, soap making, screen printing, & Days for Girls sanitary pads.

GOAL SETTING/VISION TRAINING: Train Ideal LifeVision as a way to give them hope and see a brighter future as they work on bettering their lives.

TEACH ENGLISH: Improve the women’s effectiveness in communication by offering basic adult literacy in language, arithmetic, and business skills so they can better market their products.

*they typically sit outside with their children under a tree with the teacher.

WEEKLY EMPOWERMENT CLASSES: This will include parenting, money management, marketing, confidence, health etc.

GIRLS TRAINING: Speak to girls in schools and teach them about Ideal LifeVision, Days for Girls (donating a kit to each girl), show them the importance of embracing education, campaign against early marriage and pregnancy that leads to school drop out.

DAYS FOR GIRLS KITS: Make reusable sanitary pads to both sell for a profit and distribute to women and girls within the community who cannot afford the cost of purchasing pads. (sponsor available)

OILS: A supply of doTERRA oils to heal and interact with the women.

RESCUE CENTER: Create a “rescue center” for girls who have run away to escape FGM (female genital mutilation) and early marriage (fathers “selling” their daughters). *Limited housing provided by trainers and other “secret” locations.

Sustainability

This is a self sustainable project. Once the start up costs are covered it will run by itself in terms of money.

Paying it Forward

We will start with 15 women and work with them for 60-90 days until they have a sustainable skill. Then we will have each of them bring on board a friend or family member that they can help “mentor” through the program. (30 women total every quarter). *Women can continue to come to the weekly/monthly Empowerment Night.

10% of their earning go to the “Give Back” fund to help sponsor women who cannot afford the $10 per month for training

The community is very involved and has a stake in this. They have pledged to donate land and help with part of the construction of bigger facility in the future.
