Please Help Save Beaufus

My name is Mike Lancaster and on Mother's Day, my dog, Beaufus,  jimmied the screen door at my mother's camper at Camp Clearwater and  slipped out the porch  at White Lake NC around 10pm and disappeared. I searched for 12 hours until the next day,  and finally gave up.  He was gone. I cried all the way home. Then around 1 pm  I got a phone call that he had been found trapped under a pier tangled in moss and fishing line. The drive back to White Lake was one of the most excruciating of my life. It just so happened that the wind blew a boat under this  very pier and when two teenagers went under the pier to retriev their boat they found him trapped underneath hanging on to the structure with his head just above water. It was a mircle that he was found. Why did God shine his light on me? He would surley have drowned if that boat hadn't drifted under the pier. but when I got there he was not in good shape.  He was barley alive.  He was dehydrated and had extreme exhaustion from trying to keep his head above water for 8 to 12 hours possibly tangled in monophiliment fishing line and hydrilla. He was in shock and could not even walk. I rushed hime home to our vet, Dr Michael Ward at Johnston Animal Hospital in Smithfield NC.  The doc did not think he would make it through the night. If he even did then he gave him a 30 to 40% chance for survival. He had ingested a lot of water into his lungs which were causing an infection.  Further examination showed his kidneys were compromised.  He was given IVs, antibiotics, pain meds, and a steriod shot and was hospitalized overnight. The next day he was showing signs of recovery. His kidneys had started to function, but he would not respond to food or stimuli. On Wendsday, he was up and walking and wagging his tail, but very weak, and he still refused food.  An ultra sound showed that some blockage in his intestine, it turned out to be plastic and other stuff that he probably engulfed when he was fighting to survive. Emergancy surgry was scheduled to remove the blockage in his stomach and intestines. After thye surgery Beau took one step backwards in his recovery. The vet stiil would not give him but 30 or 40% chance.  On Friday he called me and said that Beau had made a miraclalous turn around and was up walking around , wagging his tail, and eating food. On Friday the 13th Beau came home to continue his recovery. This was definitely not an unlucky day for us. He is eating anything I put in front of him now, but I am still worried. I have already paid $2000 and have no funds left in savings. The surgery was an addtional $4000 and there will be medications and addtional costs for follow up. So far the costs have been about $7000.   Relitives and friends have graciuosly offered to help and have been taking donations.  Anyone that knows me, knows Beaufus and knows that he has always been there wherever I go. Please help me save him.
