Dental Surgery for Cernunnos

Donation protected
Normally I’m too proud of a person, but I’m in a tight financial spot where I’m breaking down and finally asking for help. Recently I got hit hard by the IRS and I found out that I needed to pay almost seven thousand dollars in taxes.

With the help of a good friend a nice chunk of that was paid off and the rest put on a credit card which is now maxed out. This isn’t why I opened this donation page, though.

Recently I found a lump on the side of my dog’s mouth. At first I thought it was a bee sting, but then after giving him some epinephrine, it didn’t go away. I started giving him aspirin once a day to help with the swelling (as per by vet’s recommendation) since I wasn’t able to get him into an appointment until the next week. A walk in is $120 and an appointment was $40 and since he didn’t seem to be in any pain and he was eating fine, I could wait a few days. Thankfully the swelling went down, but the underlying problem was still there. Of course I googled and the first thing that came up was what I suspected; abscessed tooth. The more I read about it, the more worried I got. I already knew it could cause infection and even death if it gets into the blood stream. This case seems to be worse for animals. They can have abscessed teeth for a while before it starts showing the signs.

Today (Monday the 9th) I went into the vet, he took one look at the dog and said something that made my heart sink. “That is really bad. I can tell you now the tooth needs to come out immediately.” He gave me some antibiotics to help with infection, but warned me that they’re not for long term use. The tooth has to come out since there’s already an issue.

Eventually I got the bill for the coming procedure and, again, my heart sank.

Safe to say, there’s no way I can pay this. I don’t have a credit card that isn’t maxed out (the limit on mine is a meager $3,000 which was filled by the taxes) and I don’t know how long it’ll take to get all of this done. My plan is to talk to these numbers that the vet gave me:

See if they can help me pay. I’m going to start off the fund raiser at $2,000 to include taxes and extra just in case there are complications in the procedure. If I get assistance, the extra money that gets donated will be donated to the local pet shelter—or whatever pet shelter will take the donation. I’ll even provide a picture of a receipt on this site.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and please, if you can help me in any way, even if it’s fifty cents, I will be grateful. Every little bit counts.

Update

I went to another vet today, as suggested by Actors & Others, and they gave me a totally different amount.

It's almost $1,000 less! Including the blood work that's $75, the bill will be $784.65. This is loads, LOADS better than what I received before but I could still use the help. Thank you every one for all of the reblogs, shares, well wishes and donations. They've been so helpful and welcome!
