Help rebuild our farm
Donation protected
On Saturday, April 30th a massive thunderstorm devastated our small sustainable pastured poultry farm. 75 mile an hour winds and torrential rain destroyed our movable chicken tents and flooded our pastures. The lighting strikes prevented us from going out into the field during the storm and many of our birds drowned.
Farmers are on the frontline of climate change and this is the second major weather catastrophe our farm has experienced in less than 6 months and the fourth in less than a year.
We were just beginning to dig out financially from the tornado struck on December 13th but our resources are now exhausted.
If we are going to survive, we need your help.
We have to replace our mobile tents with larger and heavier metal mobile coops that can withstand extreme wind gusts.
We have to get rain water collection gutters up on all our new buildings to prevent out pastures from flooding.
We have to put in a whole new driveway as ours has washed away.
And we have to continue pay our bills while we wait for the next batch of chickens to grow.
Terry and I are dedicated to humanely raising pastured chickens in Central Texas but we cannot go on trying to patch and repair the existing infrastructure.
The storms are battering us with increasing velocity and frequency and to survive, we must make significant changes and we need to start making them now.
This is an estimated cost of what we need. If by some miracle we can do this for less, any extra funds will be donated.
We don't want to profit on your kindness, we just want to be able to keep doing what we love-farming for our friends.
Please help us by giving what you can and by spreading the word.
