SING is a musical theater program at The High School of Fashion Industries in New York City.
SING exposes our under privileged students to music, performing arts and dance. 80% of our students are at or below the poverty line.
Our school does not have any music or drama class, so SING is the only opportunity for our students to gain exposure to the performing arts.
SING is more than just a school play. We work with all types of students, including at-risk and special needs students, to build self-confidence, team work, and a strong work ethic through the performing arts. Our students from last year said that participating in SING motivated them to stay in school, make friends, and increased their self-esteem.
Both students and teachers work countless hours on writing, acting, singing, dancing, sewing, painting, and promoting our performances.
Every penny of your donation will go directly to supporting SING at the High School of Fashion Industries, Your donation is so vital because SING is the sole program that supports the performing arts at the High School of Fashion Industries. We don't have music classes, a school band or chorus. Therefore, SING is so important to the students, who only have this outlet and opportunity to learn about the performing arts.
