Fahmi's Recovery Fund

As some of you may have seen, our dear friend Fahmi (also known to many as Dylan) was severely injured in a bad multi-motorcycle accident. Don't worry, he's stable, calm, and currently in the best hospital on Zanzibar.
Fortunately, the accident occurred only days before our staff arrived in Zanzibar, and he was not left without the necessary medical care for an extended period of time. Unfortunately, this accident was much worse then we initially thought. After conversations with a few community members, and pictures posted on Facebook confirming that he was okay, we assumed he survived the accident and was dealing with a bad case of road rash. Our staff were finally able to meet up with him five days after the accident, and we quickly realized the situation was much worse then initially thought. The clinic Fahmi was sent to kept him over night, bandaged him up, sent him home on one dose of ibuprofen, and told him to return to the clinic in a week. After Fahmi and our staff met, together we decided that the medical attention he has received was not enough. The next day Fahmi was brought to Zanzibar’s best hospital to receive the care he needed.
Since then he has had two surgeries to repair his wounds and his badly broken Jaw. GIVE is covering the initial expenses for these procedures and with the help of the community and his family are assuring he is looked out for. This is only the beginning of a long recovery, and now we are raising the funds to cover the cost of future surgeries and medical expenses associated with Famhi’s Healing process.
This money goes a long way here, and any help is greatly appreciated by the Cairo Community, the GIVE family, and most importantly, Fahmi. We will post updates as his recovery progresses.
