Baxter's surgery
Hello everyone,
my names Rob.
I'm creating this page for my puppy baxter who is a 9 month old chocolate lab that is suffering from a condition that is damaging his liver severely.
His condition according to the vets is known as a liver shunt, The liver shunt in Baxter means the blood flow to and through the liver is compromised.
The bigger he gets the more metabolic wastes are produced, and therefore, the more the liver is needed. Most dogs affected with this condition do not live a normal life expectancy unless the abnormality is corrected.
He has been on medicine to help slow the damage but it's not a permanent solution unfortunately. The only solution is to get the surgery before he continues to grow older and get bigger.
This is my first dog i've ever had. The day I saw him I had to bring him home. He's made me and my family so much happier since the day I brought him home, he's my best friend and we've grown so close and attached over these 9 months.
I don't want my dog to suffer and I don't want to lose him either, so i'm reaching out because this surgery may be the only thing that can save him and I don't have enough money so i'm asking for help.
Baxter is a loving, loyal, playful puppy and I couldn't have asked for a better dog. It pains me to see him like this when he should be living a normal healthy life like other dogs. Anything raised will be used directly for his surgery. I appreciate if anyone is able to help with anything they can or spreading the word. Thank you
I want to save my puppy, he deserves to live a happy life.
