Jake Mizell
on behalf of Crystal Antell
 ARLINGTON, TX

My name is Jake Mizell. We are organizing this gofundme for T.J. Antell, who was fatally shot on  May 2, 2016. T.J. was a Husband, a father and a great coach. He is survived by his wife Crystal,  and their three children; the oldest Hayden, followed by Rilee and Liam.

T.J. was a Marine and was the owner and head coach of CrossFit Abattoir in Arlington, Texas. Currently, the gym is in the process of starting a second location, CrossFit Abattoir West.

The money will be used to help with any memorial needs the family may have, as well as any help needed at the gym. As I mentioned, they are in process of adding a second location, however it is not yet completed. The funds are needed ASAP to show support for this family.

This means so much to me, because I am a CrossFit gym owner in Arlington as well. The CrossFit community is very tight knit, and I would like for everyone to take this opportunity to be able to give back to someone who did so much for his members on a daily basis. If we rally together, we can show others just how thankful we are for T.J.

Ben Jarvis, this is not the appropriate place or time for your political and social opinions. Have some respect and decency. Right or wrong TJ made a choice he felt was right. Do not judge his choice when you were not there to see first hand. He was a Marine, trained to protect, to serve, to respect life but willing to take it if need be. I myself have played out the woulda, coulda, shouldas in my head and came to the conclusion that TJ wanted only to stop this young man and have him answer for his crime. He most likely did not want to harm Mr. Bradden and that slowed his reaction time. He still put himself in harms way for the right reasons, and they have nothing to do with the NRA or Gun Lobbyists, and everything to do with good vs. evil in this world. He is a Hero for one simple fact, he reacted when most of us would not. He did not shy away from evil, he faced it head on. Death comes to us all Mr. Jarvis, I prefer to be on my feet rather than my knees when it does so for me....

I'm terribly sorry for everyone's loss! As an Army Non-Commissioned Officer I apologize for the actions of a soldier in the United States Army. I deeply feel the loss of a United States Marine as if he were a brother! He is a brother! A terrible loss to his family, community, and to all Veteran's! May he rest in peace knowing that he met his end in an honorable way; doing what great Marines do! Protecting the people of this nation from all enemies; foreign and domestic! Again I'm terribly sorry for your loss and for the actions of an Army soldier! I wish I could give more but this is all I presently have! Hoorah and Semper Fidelis! SGT Joseph R. Adams U.S. Army Retired.

I'm sharing this right now with tears in my eyes. This is the box I worked out last week as a visitor while in Texas for school. T.J. was the owner of the gym who allowed me to come out for the week, train for free and just opened his arms to me the Crossfit families do. While we only met a handful of times, I saw him with his kids, with his wife and in his element and I can tell you this was truly a good man. My heart is breaking right now for his family... I just have no words...

T.J stepped up and did what a lot wouldn't do and unfortunately lost his life. I see him non the less as a hero. I applaud him. My heart breaks that this is the outcome for such a self-less act. His wife, kids and family are in my prayers.

He had a wife and kids to think about. You don't go and play Mr hero when the suspects are armed. This was a bad decision on his part.
