Sahr Doe had an automobile accident in Makeni, Sierra Leone. From sketchy accounts, we believe his fully loaded car blew out a rear tire and rolled. In the accident and rescue, he fractured his spine and is now unable to move his hands and feet. 

He is now at a hospital in Sierra Leone, but he can't get adequate care there. He is being transported to Ghana for surgery perhaps as soon as Tuesday. 

Sahr is an amazing man and we love him. Our hearts are broken about this tragedy and hope that in this circumstance we can engage the returned missionary force, their families and his friends to raise enough money to have him get to Ghana and get him adequate medical care. 

Everyone who knows Sahr and Feimatta and their children love them. We pray for your generousity and for the blessings of the Lord in this tragedy.

I am David Ostler and am raising this money as a personal friend of Sahr. I lived in Sierra Leone until the Ebola epidemic and now live in Northern Virginia. Sahr served as a counselor to me when I was mission president in Sierra Leone for the LDS (Mormon) church. I came to know him well and relied upon him, particularly for difficult issues, including the evacuation of missionaries during the Ebola epidemic. The funds will be spent on transporation expenses to and from Ghana and for medical care in Ghana.
