2022 Olympic Dream - Phase 2

$5,550 of $25,000 goal

I am a 30 year old from small town Alberta with a predisposition for adventure and adrenaline. Sports have been the constant in my life and the first place where I found true self expression.

At the age of 18 I began on a journey that would change my entire life. I began training in Skeleton, the Winter Olympic sport where athletes take glorified lunch trays and heart pounding speeds down a mountain, and now 13 years later it is still a core aspect of my life. I stepped away from the sport as an athlete at the age of 24 to focus on school and coaching. And last February my life-long goal of going to the Olympics came true as I was the Head Coach for the Australian Skeleton team.

Now looking ahead at the next 4 year cycle (quadrennial) leading the the Beijing Games I am poised to bring Canada back to the top of the Sliding world as an athlete.

But I need your help.

I am unable to reply to comments specifically so this update is a reply to Joe LC’s comment. But I also want to say thank you to everyone who has helped fund my Dream so far, it means the world to me to be able to attack the next Olympics with the full passion I feel! Thank you all.

Now in response to Joe LC (if you haven’t read his comment it is still up):

Hey Joe, I haven’t talked to you since the Olympics! I appreciate you investing the time to read and understand my gofundme and to express your thoughts. Although I’m not sure why you didn’t message me personally if you are so concerned with this. I have sent you a message on Facebook and look forward to continuing any discourse there. But as you made this public I’m going to leave your comment up as a reminder to myself and everyone who sees it that no matter what you do in life there will always be people who resist and provide opposition, but that is not a reason to stop pursuing your vision.

I would be elated if the rest of the athletes in the Canadian program would be able to get funding as well. I wish them the best of luck! The more funding to go around the better the program. It would be a win win for the athletes and Canada. So, to everyone reading this, thank you and also please help fund any other athletes you can.

Lastly, I don’t think hashtags work here but #gofundsomeoneelseaswell
