Journey to the Olympic Trials

Donation protected
When I was in the third grade, I was diagnosed with a learning disability, labeled a statistic until I would finish school. When I was in the sixth grade, my mother was diagnosed with a rare form of stage three cancer, around the same time both my my older brothers were being sent to Iraq.

I got through high school, but did not have the grades to get into a University, so I took six months off. Finally enrolling into a Junior College where I was fortunate enough to win Nationals in track and field. Three months later, I dropped out. The next year was my transformation year. Hitting rock bottom, but I made a decision that would change my life. I started training again, then enrolled into a Community College. After three years of sacrifices, I graduated with my Associates degree and ran fast enough to be able to walk-on The University of Oklahoma's track and cross country team.

I graduated with my Bachelors in December of 2016 and went straight into my Masters at Ashland University, where I also was able to run one semester of track and field, becoming a All-American and school record holder. I am continuing to train on my own with the help of my coach, Don Alexander to chase this dream I've had since I was a little kid- making the Olympic Trials.

Now the hard part- being able to fund my journey as I travel around the country racing the best competition.
I want to be an inspiration to all the people out there who may have lost faith, or feel like they want to give up. Most importantly, to the kids in my shoes who do not have a voice.
