The Hudson Valley Jazz Festival 2020
Donation protected
2020 marks the second decade for The Hudson Valley Jazz Festival. This four day series is designed to highlight the valley's wealth of jazz artists. In 2019 we saw a year marked with several shows led by women including what is best referred to a "new emerging young artist".
For 2020 our goals include:
- revised scheduling making it easier to attend multiple shows
- musicians and venues that would be new to the festival
- broaden the "jazz definition".
- feature a multi-disciplinary performance with a dance, spoken word, fine art or other modality
- jazz education in the form of promoting local teacher / artists
Over the years the festival has also been fortunate to present high profile artists such as Wallace Roney, Arturo O'farrell, Dave Liebman, The Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, John Abercrombie and Lenny White to name a few.
We hope to partner with The Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center and other local producers, towns and villages.
As always, most concerts will either be free or a low cost to the public. Held in cafes, restaurants, parts
