2016 Schott Comm. Run Walk and Roll
Donation protected
My name is William Clifford, and I am part of the music ministry at Schott Communities in Southwest Ranches, FL. Schott Communities is having its annual 5K "Run, Walk & Roll" this coming October 15th, one of its major fundraising campaigns for the year.
Schott Communities is a private, non-profit organization founded in 1986 to address the needs of persons who are deaf or who are physically or intellectually challenged in South Florida. The agency is an extension of the ministry of the Archdiocese of Miami for this special population. It is named for the parents of Joseph J. Schott, Jr., who purchased its "home" in a quasi-rural section of Cooper City, Florida and established the Schott Memorial Foundation to help fund its programs and services. The organization is governed by a Board of Directors and is managed by an Executive Director and assistant directors and coordinators. A cadre of volunteers also serve the Communities.
Unique to Florida, Schott Communities develops residential housing for the deaf or disabled; designs programs to assist clients develop skills for independent living; offers clients counseling services and educational programs to promote self-sufficiency, and provides clients with social, recreational and spiritual opportunities to enhance their quality and enjoyment of life. In an environment of caring and dignity, persons who are deaf or disabled are encouraged and challenged to grow in self-acceptance and independence.
This year I have decided to participate in this event for the first time, and am seeking to raise $5,000 from sponsors. All proceeds raised as part of this crowdfunding campaign are greatly appreciated and will go directly to Schott Communities in support of the good works that they do.
If you would like to know more about Schott and the programs that they offer, or if you know someone that could benefit from their services, please visit their website at:
