Pray For Kerrigan

Donation protected
Making this GoFundMe for my niece Kerrigan. She is only 6 months old. She was rushed to the ER on October 22st 2019. Her lips, fingers and toes all turned blueish purple. They have done tests on her immediately and had to give her a blood transfusion. About 24 hrs in, they found out it was sepsis that turned to meningitis. This is a very scary time for our family but we won't give up hope! Doctors say that this is very deadly. :( Her brain is swelling and veins are leaking blood. If she recovers she may possibly be blind. Kerrigan Hernandez was born April 11th 2019. She has 4 older brothers and 1 older sister. Kera is the youngest member of the Hernandez family. On October 22nd 2019, 10 am Kerrigan is being flown to the children's hospital. She is having problems with her lungs and may have an infection. They sedated her and put her on a ventilator to help her breath. Her blood sugar was also a 20 which they said was really low. We couldn't ride with her, so Peter and I are driving up to Fargo now. On October 22nd 2019, 12:40pm We are at Sanford Children's Hospital. They are still working on stabilizing Kerrigan. She has a really low blood count and she may need a transfusion, but they aren't sure yet. Right now the priority is getting rid of the infection. On October 22nd 2019, 2 pmKera's heart rate is doing better, so they are lowering the dose of the blood pressure medication. They are getting ready to do a blood transfusion. We are still waiting to see her. On 0ctober 22nd 2019, 11:30pm This is the hardest thing I've ever had to do and we aren't even 24 hours in yet. We are waiting for the results of her culture so we know exactly what kind of bacteria we are dealing with. The culture could take 24 to 72 hours to develop. For right now they have her on broad spectrum antibiotics to help keep her as stable as possible. She is still in critical condition. There is a lot of blood in her urine. She is having very poor circulation in her arms, legs, hands, and feet. She is still on a ventilator. Her blood count is still very low and they are about to give her more blood. She is having trouble clotting so they are going to give her Vitamin K and Dopamine. She is also on medication to keep her blood pressure up. She is swollen all over and her small veins are leaking blood. As soon as the culture comes back they can put her on a more specialized antibiotic and really fight the infection. Until then, mostly everything will stay the same. Please keep praying for my baby girl. We all love her so much. Thank you everyone. October 23rd 2019 Kera's doing pretty good for where we are at in this. She still will not have the medicine she needs until the culture comes back, but she has been showing improvements. Her urine is now the color of tea, which is a big step up from the blackish red it was yesterday. She is still on the ventilator, but she is breathing half on her own. The pulse in her legs is spotty, but they finally found it. Her finger tips and tie tips are purple, but there is still a bit of blood flow. Her blood pressure and heart rate are completely normal. They are taking her if the sleeping meds temporarily because they want to make sure she can still wake up. She is still in a scary situation, but there is a lot of hope. Thank you for all the prayers and support. I'll update again when I get more news I will try to update as much as I can.
