Olivia's Diabetic Coma

Donation protected
Saturday morning, my mom, Adrienne woke up to a terrifying situation, my sister and my mom's only daughter was unresponsive when she tried to wake her to start the day. She immediately called 911 and help arrived just in time, as my sister, Olivia, had fallen into a diabetic coma in her sleep.  The first few days were touch and go, with Olivia being on life support and having possible brain and heart damage, which both were thankfully ruled out in the ongoing days. She needed emergency surgery for a blood clot, from which she is currently recovering and is still on life support battling her diabetes which has caused a dangerous spike in her blood sugar and triglycerides. This, on top of the other issues is very concerning as the levels are taking a long time to normalize. As of this moment, Olivia is finally minimally responsive after days of being in a medicated coma and while not able to speak, she can blink for her family and wiggle her toes on one foot. The other side of her body is questionable at this point, as her skin is mottled as well as she is unable to move certain limbs on that side.  Obviously, this has been a tremendous heart ache and terror for Olivia and her loved ones. They have been basically living at the hospital to be by her side, and my mother, Adrienne, and Father, Mick (as well as Olivia herself, who has a job at Isaac's) have not been able to work since my sisters admission to the hospital. Things will soon pile up for all 3 of them, with no income coming in, and no idea when, which is why we are now asking for your guys help in getting through all of this without leaving too much of a dent in how we've been living. Thankfully, thus far, Olivia has good health coverage and is in great hands at LGH. The question is, though, how long will the coverage hold out and what is to come with co-pays and non covered services. Our family is too distraught and exhausted to even look into the financial aspect of her care, their focus of course is on doing anything possible to keep her in the hospital and have her to continue to improve. Olivia, my sister, has just graduated high school all the while just turning 18. It's very stressful for every part of the family including Olivia and it breaks our hearts seeing her like this. Olivia is a true heart. A beautiful and loving young girl who is a big sister to two younger brothers, Liam(me) and Colin(my brother). She is a daughter, a granddaughter, a friend and a force! She will get through this. Please keep our family and friends in your thoughts, and if you can, donate even a little bit toward her care, every penny counts ♥️ Have a great day, and thank you so much for taking the time to read all of this.
