Ashley Jade’s Road To Recovery

Ashley looks amazing and gets compliments everywhere she goes. Her make up and wig are making her shine. She is simply beautiful. She is a fighter and has endured so much. However, as good as she looks there is an entirely different situation going on inside her brain. We have shared before that she suffers from OCD, anxiety, depression and PTSD from everything she has been through in the last seven years. We are trying everything we can think of to get her on medication that can help ease the pain she is going through. We even have her with the head doctor of psychology at Shands that she travels 2 hours to get to most weeks. We finally thought she was getting on track and feeling better but then the last few weeks she has declined fast. My husband and I left out of town for a one night getaway. She was ok when we left and even looking forward to having the house to herself. the next day I got a desperate call from her that she just couldn’t take it anymore and the suicidal thoughts were back and worse than ever. We made sure she was safe and I rushed home immediately. Unfortunately the medication she’s on is not helping at all. We stopped our fundraisers a couple months ago hoping we could work enough to get out of the debt and move on with our lives. With all we have been through financially this year we are just not able to catch up. The only option for her right now is to start getting the ketamine treatments again. I have shared many times about how much they have helped her but unfortunately her insurance company will not even consider paying a dime towards it and it is $450 per treatment. I got her in immediately this morning for one treatment but she is going to need more. I had just started working again this last month and now have to make sure I can be home with her as much as possible until she is feeling safe again. Mental illness is just not taken seriously enough in this country. As much as we want to be able to take care of all of this on our own now we are literally having to decide which bills not to pay to be able to afford her treatments. I will be posting more on her prayer page and trying to help people understand what she’s going through but that’s hard to do when we don’t even completely understand why this keeps happening to her. Why her brain just does not seem to be wired correctly and Why the doctors that are covered under her insurance just can’t get her stable enough to even be left alone. We have received so much help from so many people and I hate to ask again but keeping ashley safe and keeping the power and water on are all just things we HAVE to do. We appreciate everyone who has prayed, donated, sent us positive vibes and been so supportive in so many ways but we just need more help right now. Corey is working every day he can and I will be bringing Ashley with me to occasional jobs but obviously can’t work a lot at the moment. If you can help in any small way we would appreciate it. This is just heart breaking after all she’s been through to see her have such a hard setback. I can’t explain what it’s like to first worry about her through transplant and now worrying about her feeling hopeless. We are just trying to take one day at a time and thanking God that he helped guide her to reach out to me and allow me to be there for her instead of making an irrational decision her brain was telling her to make. She definitely has a guardian angel looking out for her and our number one request is for prayers that the doctors can find the right answer and get her stable along with the ketamine treatments. #PrayersForAshleyJade #teamashleyjade
