Help Save Simbas Leg

I would like to introduce everyone to Simba he is our gorgeous 2 year old boy who is a loving and mischievous character. He shares 2 homes who are next door neighbours and brings joy and comfort to 8 children as well as many other locals he has come to meet. Unfortunately due to an awful car accident that happened on the evening of Friday 14th June 2019. He has been left fighting to save his leg. Having his usual stroll with his 2 other cat mates a car came speeding around the corner. Simba saw the car and tried to run away from it but the car hit him and continued to drag him underneath the car, we witnessed this happened and shouted at the driver to stop but he drove off. Simba ran in shock clearly hurt holding up his back left leg and hid to which we spent the next hour searching and knocking doors of local neighbours to find him until he came running home. We rushed him to emergency care and then onto an emergency animal hospital so he could be sedated and assessed. He has suffered some grazing to his face and back but the worst is his inner left back leg which has had all the fur, skin and flesh torn away leaving his bone and tendons exposed. Currently it is unknown wether he will need skin grafts or possible amputation if the leg can’t be saved until a few dressing changes and cleaning of the wound. So far we have payed out £400 for the emergency care he has received but depending on what can be done we’re looking at another £600 to £1500 more to bring him home.
