Rebuilding of 1020 Military
In May of 2018, the three of us, my brother Casye Seifert and my wife Kelsey Seifert, purchased a building on the historic Route 66 in Baxter Springs Kansas. Our dreams for the building seemed endless as we continually explored the interior and exterior! Production Studios. Coffee Shop. Podcast Studio. Bitcoin Mining. Whatever we could dream was possible. The weeks and months following we arduously worked to strip plaster off the walls to expose the authentic brick walls, clear out debris and edge closer to installing features like electric, plumbing, and HVAC.
The funds raised here will be directly used to continue to repair, design, and build 1020 into our vision!
These are some of the changes that have happened so far since May!
One of the first pictures of a cleared out 1020! We had just started to expose the brick!
If only we worked this fast! To not blow out the brick or the grout I have to spray each brick almost individually!
A man dedicated to his passion! Casye strolling through the wreckage of the past and the sprouts of the future!
This was some video of the upstairs before any of the plaster had been removed!
BUT as we move forward to our proposed end these are some of the ambitions we wish to manifest!
We hope to create a niche coffee shop that specializes in boutique style roasting and brewing. This space would offer pristine coffee selections as well as provide a welcoming and productive atmosphere for locals and tourist alike.
Along with studio space for the "SciFi And Friends Podcast" we want to create a public podcasting studio(s) where individuals or groups can rent out to produce their own shows. People can rent hourly, weekly, or perhaps even longer. We would supply the space, equipment and if needed the editing and producing of the show.
The production space for Infinite Productions continues to grow with each passing season. Having a studio to house all of our needed equipment as well as provide space for filming products (beverages, vehicles, etc) and individuals will help continue to expand our potential. Along with editing bays, producer's offices, and writing rooms, the space will work as a full-scale production company.
Above 1018 and 1020 is 1018 1/2 ! This space was old apartment rooms that had a single dedicated bath house! We hope to renovate these living quarters to create a prestigious living area that would overlook the historic Route 66. These lofts would be situated over the coffee shop and would have street access.
Any support is appreciated and we are excited to continue to work hard and pursue our goals! As time moves on we will update with photos, videos, and documents! If you feel driven to donate we much appreciate it! We will continue to build and move forward whether we achieve our campaign goal or not! :)
One little update! I altered the amount of money that we are pushing to raise from $100k to $8k , not to narrow down our vision but to isolate the reconstruction efforts to individual steps! $8k is what we were quoted on electricity for the entire building, upstairs and downstairs. Electric is one of the first big upgrades that we will undergo so by focusing our fund raising efforts there we believe we can make better progress!
