After the family was finally able to make contact, Alma learned that Marco was moved to a detention center in Louisiana. Marco and Alma have lived in the United States for more than twenty years and love exploring the neighborhood park with their four children, all of whom were born here. They were both looking forward to the arrival of their fifth child. Alma has spoken at length about the dangerous conditions in their home country of Guatemala, which influenced their decision to start a family in the US. She wants to stay in Baltimore to ensure her children can finish school, go to college, and pursue better opportunities.
