A year ago, I was diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer, and since then life has changed in ways I never could have imagined. I went months without being able to work while going through radiation and chemo, and during that time the medical bills, regular household expenses, and debt from simply trying to survive kept piling up. I have been blessed to have friends and family step in, but much of that help has come in the form of loans that I still need to repay. On top of that, I have kids in college and high school who still need support while I am doing everything I can just to keep going. I have not been able to eat real food in a year, and I still rely on a feeding tube for nutrients and medicine. I recently had surgery to stretch my throat to help with swallowing, but the side effects from radiation have left my saliva glands not working, so eating is still impossible right now. Radiation also destroyed my teeth, and now I need dental work that I cannot afford. I am still going to regular doctor appointments, and it has been incredibly hard trying to climb out of the financial hole created by missing so much work for treatment. Any support will go toward doctor bills, dental care, regular bills, and helping me take care of my kids. Anything you can give would mean the world to me and my family. Thank you for considering helping us through this difficult time.
