Smiles For Emily, 9 yr old with Gorlin Syndrome

Donation protected
My granddaughter Emily has been diagnosed with Gorlin Syndrome. This is a genetic disorder that affects her spine causing curvature at the shoulder area. It's likely her head will be diplaced because of it. It also causes her mouth to grow cysts in the jaw area. Emily currently has 4 cysts in her mouth and is being scheduled for surgery to have them removed. The largest of the cysts has eaten away most of the jawbone on the left side of her face. She will need to have a bone graft to strengthen her jaw to keep it strong enough so that she can eat. The bone graft will be taken from her hip. She will lose all of the teeth on the bottom left side of her mouth due to the surgery, and will require dentures for eating. Gorlin Syndrome also puts her at a very high risk of developing skin cancer. She now has to be limited to short times in the sun and wear sunblock at all times. This little girl is scared to death! Please help her and her family get through the financial hardships that they are facing as we find healing for our precious Emily.
