Megan Lodge Memorial Speech & Debate Fund

It is with grieving hearts that we set up this donation page in honor of Megan Lodge and at the request of her family.
Speech and Debate was an activity that Megan loved and excelled in; she called it her second family. She was a formidable competitor who qualified for the State competition 3 years in a row as well as the national competition in Alabama her sophomore year. She was working ardently to return to both competitions this year.
Megan's passion and energy always went towards competing at a high level and being her best at every practice and every competition. She was also extremely kind and generous. She was always a shoulder to cry on, a teammate others went to for advice, and a person who pushed those around her to be their very best. Megan was always about "being real", being authentic, and speaking her truth. She was a young woman with a powerful voice. Her speeches and leadership have changed all who listened to her for the better.
Her creativity, passion, drive, enthusiasm, and leadership are things that will be remembered by her teammates, coaches, as well as the larger speech and debate community.
Megan (EVHS Class of 2019) was 17 years old when she died on Wednesday, December 26th in a single-car accident.
Her family has requested that in lieu of flowers, etc. they would like all donations to go towards her speech and debate team.
I know I speak for the entire speech and debate team as well as the valley community when I say, "Megan, we love you, we miss you, and we will not forget you."
