Landless Peoples Land & Housing

$4,844 of $500,000 goal

Raised by 37 people in 15 months
Poor and indigenous peoples self-determined land & housing efforts need your urgent help to manifest, build and heal Mama Earth and her earth peoples. The following projects are models being shared in the Stolen Land/Hoarded Resources Tours Across Mama Earth and all part of a collective, grassroots fund we call The Bank of Community Reparations...(NOTE -As of 2018 we will be including individual families rent funds who are facing eviction due to gentrification in the Bay Area)

1) Homefulness - a Poor and Indigenous Peoples-led Self-Determined, Land Liberation Movement in Deep East Huchuin (Oakland) is currently in URGENT Need for Financial help to  1) Phase 4 of the Homefulness Building Project which installing the roofs, buying windows and skylights, appliances, flooring, interior and exterior walls, bathrooms and electrical  for all 4 multiple family"MamaHouses" at Homefulness, 2) purchase a transmitter and antenna for RoofLESS Radio&TV and Deecolonize Academy 3) fund and continue to keep a liberation school for children and families in poverty open..

2)  Sogorea Te Land Trust ‌ - a Native Women run land trust working on reclaiming, liberating Ohlone/Lisjan land for ceremony and healing of 1st peoples of Oakland/Bay Area

Manna From Heaven- a Black Elder-led food and housing program that is raising money to Launch a Homefulness project in North Huchuin/Oakland

4) Frohms Martial Arts- a powerful,  Black-led, Martial Arts studio for children and adults in East Oakland that was displaced once due to gentrification and Must stay in Oakland for our communities' thrival has now been threatened AGAIN with displacement because their new location was sold.

The power-FULL Homefulness news is, after six years of fundraising, struggle, prayer, evictions, displacement and removal of the poor and unhoused leadership of POOR Magazine alongside extreme grassroots, community work in the intentionally blighted neighborhood where Homefulness exists Homefulness finally got ALL the building permits granted to manifest the project, including  the huge project required by the City of re-routing ALL the utilities (aka Mama Earth sold and comidified and sold back to her earth peoples).

The REALLY exciting news is, we finished the french drain, the foundations for four homes, and the framing on all four houses but.... we have no more money so we are stuck-  we cant afford to get the windows and skylights and roofs and interiors done on the Mamahouses. (3 br 2 ba accessible homes that will be what POOR Magazine's welfareQUEENS dubbed MamaHouses for multiple families and children and elders)

So now we need to raise $150,000 to finish the homes so that houseless families can move in by 2018

KEXU-PNN-Poor Peoples Revolutionary Radio/TV
In 2017 we have also been blessed with an FCC license to create Poor Peoples Revolutionary Radio & TV - analog and digital- 96.1fm on your dial which we are already preparing for but need sto buy an antenna, transmitter and an emergency thing - to the tune of $10,000- and we will have to launch the whole thing on the dial in black August 2017 or lose that license (!!!)

And finally our beautiful liberation school for children in poverty Deecolonize Academy needs to raise $60,000 to stay open thru June 2018 -

More About the Stolen Land/Hoarded Resources Tour
The Stolen Land/Hoarded Resources tour, where poor people tour "wealthy" neighborhoods across the US and knock on doors humbly asking that wealth hoarders redistribute their money and assets to poor and indigenous peoples and organizations, comes to the extreme wealth- hoarders of Marin County-

This powerful nation-wide tour was launched in 2016 in the stolen village of Yelamu (San Francisco's Nob Hill and Pacific Heights neighborhoods) and has so far "toured" wealth-hoarder enclaves such as Beverly Hills, The Hamptons, Park Avenue, Piedmont, and the Main Line of Philadelphia to name a few.

This tour through stolen indigenous land and the neighborhoods of the very rich, is led by 1st Nations Ohlone Warrior Corrina Gould, Poverty Skola" Lisa "Tiny" Gray-Garcia, fellow Race, Disability, Indigenous Skolaz from POOR Magazine/Prensa POBRE, and Leroy Moore from Krip Hop Nation. Co-sponsors so far include The Self-Help Hunger Program, Resource Generation and AfrikaTown

The tour is loosely based on the Bhoodan Movement of India launched by Vinoba Bhave who walked through India asking wealthy "land-owners" to gift their land to landless peoples. With a similar vision, this small group of landless and indigenous peoples being hit the hardest by displacement and gentrification will be Intentionally crossing the invisible and visible lines between the land and resource hoarders aka the very rich and the victims of generations of white supremacy, theft, colonization, criminalization, racism, eugenics and silencing, aka the very poor.

"We homeless, working-class, disabled and 1st Nations people are peacefully crossing the visible and invisible lines that separate us poor folks from the "very rich" to ask them to begin the healing, change-making, process of decolonizing, redistributing and reparating their stolen and/or hoarded, inherited wealth and/or land " Concluded Lisa Tiny Gray-Garcia, formerly houseless co-founder of POOR Magazine and author of Growing Up Homeless in America and the upcoming PeoplesTextBook- Poverty Scholarship - Poor People Theory, Art, Words and Tears Across Mama Earth

As we humbly and peacefully walk into "wealthy" neighborhoods across the "U.S.", we will be offering land and stolen resource hoarders a chance to begin the very serious work of Decolonization by redistributing one or more of their hoarded and bordered stolen indigenous territory, buildings, homes, stocks, bonds, cash or trust funds to landless and indigenous people in the form of what we call Community Reparations. Alternatively, if people are unwilling or unable to redistribute their stolen or hoarded wealth, we will be asking land-stealers and/or wealth-hoarders to begin an active dialogue on the concept of Community Reparations, Decolonization and Redistribution with us, the most impacted, the landless peoples, the very poor and colonized.

Two models that Homeless and 1st Nations folks are presenting is the poor people-led self-determined movement called Homefulness in Deep East Oakland (Huchuin Ohlone Land) as well as launch Homefulness movements in every city where unhoused and 1st Nations people dwell as well as the Sogorea Te Land Trust which is a Native Woman run land trust based in the land of the 1st peoples who lead it.

In addition to these two models as we tour through other cities across Turtle Island for other cities across the US we will be asking for descendants of settler colonizers to redistribute their excess or hoarded wealth or stolen land to 1st Nations people of the City they "own" land in or to support the launching of Homefulness models in that city or town for unhoused people. We will be asking people with more than one house, condo or space or more money than they need to live on are to ask for redistribute these resources to the very poor and unhoused peoples in the Bay Area
