Ja'Kiya's Medical Expenses

On August 14, 2016 my sister had given birth to the most beautiful set of twins I have ever seen, but they were 17 weeks early. The odds of survival were 30% and as low as 10% without any disabilities or complications. Za’Riya Jhene was born at 1lb 4oz and her younger sister Ja’Kiya Renae weighed 1lb 3 oz. Over the next week they were thriving and perfectly fine, everything looked great, my family and I had extremely high hopes that they would make it through everything. These little miracles were warriors, with our faith in the lord we thought everything would be okay. On August 27, 2016 I had received a call from my older sister, she then proceeded to tell me that they were rushing Za’Riya from West Penn Hospital to the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. She had a hole in her intestine which leaked into her stomach which made her stomach large and hard.  The doctors said that she might not even make it through the night. On August 27, 2016 they took her breathing tube out and she took her final breath.

As of January 5, 2017 my niece, Ja’Kiya, is still fighting in the NICU at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh where she is receiving the best care. She has been there for almost 5 months and her bills are getting extremely expensive for her just to stay there and starting to pile up. She will be recieving a Tracheostomy and the equipment and supplies will also be costly.
Her mother will not be able to handle all the bills on her own. As a single mother working a server job at the olive garden she is not making enough to help her with these bills. All of the money raised will be used to pay for Ja’Kiya’s medical bills and anything that is left over from the money raised will go to buy Ja’Kiya clothes and anything else she will need.
