Jahsua’s recovery

Our Story:
Meet Jahsua, our 5 year old boy who loves to dance and sing from the top of his lungs. He's loving, compassionate and always shows empathy. But on July 11th, our life took a dark turn. Jahsua woke up with muscle weakness in his left leg making it difficult for him to walk. With his left leg being immobile  plus his ongoing fever that he had for a couple of days, we knew something was not right, for our intuition told us so. We took him to his pediatrician for testings, but was later sent to Dell Children's Hospital in Austin TX.  There, they performed XRAYs, MRIs, and spinal lumbar puncture. We learned shortly after, that our son contracted a 1 in a million condition called Acute Flaccid Myelitis (AFM). AFM attacks the nervous system and weakens the muscles. As time is progressing, so is his condition. Jahsua currently has no functionality in his legs and cannot sit up on his own. Jahsua is the first patient in 2018 to be diagnosed with AFM in Austin, Texas. Due to the rarity of this condition there is no specific time frame or treatment to cure this disease. There is not enough research available for AFM, so it leaves us with so many unanswered questions.  We have been at the hospital for over two weeks and we dont know when he will be able to go back home.  We are in a quest for the best care for Jah. Hello Friends, I need your help to raise some money for our friends 5 year old son Jahsua and his family.   He has been at the Dell’s Chrildren Hospital for the last week....  He started feeling sick out of nowhere, his legs started hurting and a day after he couldn’t move his legs.  Per doctors he has a spinal virus and the recovery could be long before he could walk or run again....  

Any help is really appreciated, it will be used for any additional bills that they have or anything that’s needed after he goes home.
