Hooi Poh Kureishi Medical Bills

Dear Families and Friends,
Our dear friend Mrs. Hooi Poh Kureishi, unfortunately, was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in early August 2016. Hooi Poh had been working in the cafeteria of a local elementary school nearby until her cancer diagnosis. The cancer is very aggressive and is spreading quickly. She had her first surgery in late August to remove the colon cancer.
Hooi Poh first began chemotherapy in mid-October, when the cancer had already reached stage 4. On November 28, at the Washington Hospital Center, her doctor performed a second surgery to remove stomach cancer tumors. This surgery was successful. Miraculously, she was discharged from the hospital in a very short time, on December 6, 2016. We were all surprised by her swift recovery.
Nevertheless, after a recent checkup with the oncologist, Hooi Poh was told not only had the cancer spread to her liver but there were fluids and recurring cancer tumors all over her stomach. Her oncologist also told her it is too late and she is too weak to receive additional chemotherapy.
She has now determined to get natural treatments and use natural remedies from holistic doctors. All natural treatments and remedies are not covered by insurance and are very costly, though.
Hooi Poh joined the church in Malaysia, where she worked for the national headquarter (fundraising, witnessing, and some office work). After she came to the United States, she has been living with her husband Hirofumi and their three children, Sanai, 18, Shogen, 16, and Namai, 11, in Hyattsville, Maryland for over 17 years. For much of this time, until recently, Hooi Pooh and her family lived at a Maryland student center in Hyattsville where she cared for so many students and friends. They really benefited from her warm caring heart as well as her very tasty meals.
