Help Theatretrain get to Edinburgh

Theatretrain Theatre Company is an emerging company led by Theatretrain Reading who want to give a platform to the youth of today, to train them to artistically explore the stories they want to tell and to give them wonderful performance opportunities to realise their work.

We have been developing this project for two years, from the initial stages of exploring stories we wanted to adapt, to discovering Alice in Wonderland anew! So many young people benefit from our training programmes and performance opportunities with our scholarships and bursary places that are awarded each year. It is so important for us to be able to support and enable everyone to train in the performing arts. We want every cast member to enjoy the amazing experience of taking our new adaptation of Alice to the world famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival this Summer 2018 - 8th-11th August 2018, performing at theSpace Triplex Venue 38.

This is a self-funded project to offer new and amazing opportunities for young people in Reading, Berkshire. So far, we have raised an amazing £1800 through Supermarket Bag Packing, Cake sales, Sponsored events and wonderful supporters! We need your help to get us all to Edinburgh Festival and we are hoping to raise £1500 with your kind donations.

Our target on Go Fund Me is £1000 because we hope to continue to fundraise the remaining amount ourselves. If we surpass our Go Fund Me target however, we will be able to fully fund students who would not be able to perform without financial help.

Experience the magic of Wonderland in this spectacular reinvention of Lewis Carroll’s classic tale. Packed with all the characters we remember and love, 16 talented actors present a physically dynamic tour-de-force through Victorian England and Wonderland. Like Alice, you will be catapulted into the strange and wonderful world of Wonderland. Alice is certainly not your typical show, Wonderland is a circus!

Theatretrain Theatre Company are making their Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut with Alice. With infectious energy, vibrant ensemble sequences and an exciting twist on an old classic, be prepared to smile throughout the show.

Alice does not fit in. Brought up to believe in wonder, Alice hates sitting still, she asks too many questions and she rejects everything Victorian England throws at her. On the eve of her 13th birthday, Alice is catapulted into the magical world of Wonderland. The failing Wonderland Circus needs Alice. The clock is ticking, will Alice find her role and take centre stage in time?

Established in 1992, Theatretrain has been amazing audiences throughout the UK including creating vivid and physically spectacular/stunning performances at The O2 Arena and over 80 performances in West End Theatres and The Royal Albert Hall. Supported by acclaimed Patrons Catherine Tate, Sir Derek Jacobi, Alfred Molina and Lucy Davis, Theatretrain continues to push artistic boundaries to present exciting theatrical performances.
