December 30, 2016 will mark our first wedding anniversary. Grace and I are graduate students who met at California Baptist University in 2014. I play the piano, she plays the violin. We came to know each other through our participation in the music program. As we grew closer together in our pursuit of God and each other, we realized we wanted to spend the rest of our lives with each other. Before we knew it, our wedding day arrived on December 30, 2015.
On Saturday, December 3, my wife Grace was hit by a car as she was walking across the crosswalk on Magnolia Avenue heading towards CBU. She was taken to the ER, where initially she was stable and responsive before her mental responsiveness took a downturn, and she needed to be put under and on a breathing tube, and transferred to the ICU. She has a fracture in her skull, bleeding in her brain, a shattered left knee and fractured right knee, and fractured pelvis..they have done multiple CAT scans on her and right now we are waiting for the neuro doctor to confirm that her brain has stabilized enough for them to do surgeries on her knees.
Please pray. I am so thankful for everyone who has let me know that they are praying, I can't express how much that means to me and to Grace's family! Our God is sovereign and gracious, and we want to entrust Grace completely to Him. May His will be done!
I would also ask our amazing friends and family to help Grace on her road to recovery by donating financially. At this point Grace is looking at about a week in the ICU, then some time in a regular unit, then weeks of therapy and rehabilitation. The paramedics who arrived at the scene of the accident took Grace to a hospital that is not part of Grace's work insurance, and therefore may not cover any of her hospital expenses.
We know God is sovereign and able. We also know that we have a powerful cloud of witnesses praying and caring for us. We appreciate all of your help, whether through prayers or financial contributions. It is so reassuring to know that Grace is by no means alone in this. Thank you all so much!
