Zak's New Ears
Donation protected
Zak was born severe to profoundly deaf. At 19 months old he underwent surgery for bilateral cochlear implants. Nearly 5 years have flown by since his surgery & he is now eligible for an upgrade for new processors. The cost of the new processors & all the parts & pieces needed is $20k & our portion is $6k. His old processors are starting to fall apart & 2 are broken. So he doesn't have back ups at this moment. With an upgrade we can get him hearing efficiently & have his current ones as a back up if needed. He attends a special school in Rancho Cordova for deaf & hard of hearing children, infancy to 3rd grade. He has progressed past our expectations & we are blessed to have the opportunity to take him to this special school. As most of us parents know raising children is quite expensive & having a disabled child just adds to it. I am a stay at home Mom, well sort of! I drive him to school Monday through Friday & this will be his 4th year at the CCHAT Center. We are beyond grateful to anyone who is willing to help our son get this much needed upgrade. Any amount will help us reach our goal.
