Help the Wang Family Rebuild Their Home

Hello, Bohua Chinese School is fundraising for one of our Bohua community families, Yanyu, Xu, and Angelina (14) Wang of Superior, Colorado. They lost their home, vehicle, and all of their belongings in the Marshall Wildfire on 12/30/21. Like many other families who were ordered to evacuate, the Wang family only left home with two days’ worth of clothes and one car, even without bringing important family photos and documents with them. Their home was one of sixty structures lost in their Rock Creek neighborhood.

In the past couple of weeks, the Wang family has only accepted food and clothes for their urgent need. They kept saying to let the community support flow to the families more in need and that they could manage by themselves. The Wang family had previously believed that they could go through the recovery process using their own savings and insurance coverage. Unfortunately, as they started talking to potential builders, the cost of rebuilding is found to be much higher than what they expected due to the situation of the supply chain and labor shortage. They, like many in our community, are finding their insurance insufficient. The Wang family has lived in Superior for 11 years and were tightly attached to the community and their neighborhood. They are hopeful and determined to return and rebuild their home. The Wang family has been part of the Bohua community for almost 10 years. They actively participated in community activities, particularly donating generously to help the community, local hospitals and medical staff when pandemic began to widespread in the spring 2020.

All funds raised will go to the Wang family directly to help them rebuild in the coming year.
